House of Dragon has not yet unveiled the fate of Daemon Targaryen. However, the book "Fire & Blood" provides some insight into his possible demise. While searching for Aemond and Vhagar, Daemon had Nettles, a 17-year-old dragonseed, accompany him to Maidenpool. Upon discovering from Mysaria that Nettles and Daemon were sharing a bed, Rhaenyra ordered Lord Manfryd Mooton to execute Nettles. Hesitant to comply, Manfryd allowed Maester Norren to inform Daemon of the order. Grateful for the warning, Daemon permitted an emotional Nettles to leave safely on Sheepstealer the following morning.

That same day, Daemon declared his departure for Harrenhal. When he arrived at the castle on Caraxes, squatters fled, leaving Daemon alone to await Aemond's arrival. Thirteen days later, Aemond and his lover, Alys Rivers, appeared on Vhagar. The ensuing Battle Above the God's Eye saw the dragons locked in combat as Daemon leaped from his saddle, plunging Dark Sister into Aemond's blind eye. Mortally wounded, Caraxes managed to reach the shore before succumbing to his injuries.

Years later, the bodies of Aemond and Vhagar were discovered at the bottom of the lake. Although Daemon's body was never found, historians speculate that he perished in the same battle.
